Last weekend, we took a small break and headed down to Reykjavik for some epic paddling in a beautiful fjord not far from Reykjavík. Seeing puffin and kittiwake colonies being harassed and dodging Arctic Skua made for thrilling birdwatching. Seal colonies basked on the skerries at low tide feeding their young, so we stayed way back so as not to disturb their sensitive feeding cycles. We forgot to introduce Þoka! (Th-Oh-ka), or "fog" in Icelandic. She is our independent and loud Icelandic sheepdog/Border collie mix and our bestie. 🐕 But her best friend is Askur @adventuresofaskur @meganiley She loves to swim, SUP, chase frisbees, bike, hike, sniff things and roll in any kind of 💩 she can find. You may find her with us at Sigló Sea, probably barking at you or begging you to throw the frisbee. We had atmospheric evening SUP under the low clouds with Taylor, who SUP'd the Hudson River! We were treated to wonderful, calm conditions with a North wind blowing us home 🌬 He found us after seeing our poster in the unique cafe @gisli.eirikur.helgi in Dalvík (amazing fish soup and delicious cakes). It's must try for those after whale watching tours 🐋
